There are currently three statutory clinical commissioning groups (CCG) in Leeds who cover the whole of the city – NHS Leeds North CCG, NHS Leeds South and East CCG and NHS Leeds West CCG – who are currently working in a partnership with a shared leadership team and shared governance arrangements. The post holders will support the Medical Director to provide medical leadership on behalf of the CCG. They will support the Medical Director and Director of Quality & Safety on the quality, safety and performance of commissioned providers - secondary/hospital care, mental health and community care. They will lead on interventions to improve outcomes for the health of the local population. They will support the Medical Director and the Director of Quality & Safety in the investigation and reduction of serious untoward incidents (SUIs), healthcare associated infections (HCAIs) and complaints managed by the CCG.

The post holders will have responsibility for Individual funding requests (IFR) and development of the policy. They will chair the panel and be a designated decision maker on behalf of the CCG. They will become Deputy Caldicott Guardian for the CCG.

The will required working with Clinical Leads, supporting managers and others in the development of Clinical Pathways and Primary Care Development Programmes, ensuring a sound evidence base underpins commissioning decisions and service redesign and that evaluation of the impact of service and policy interventions is carried out.

They will also work closely with the Medical Director in relation to the development of Primary Care in line with the CCG strategic intentions.

The successful applicant must be a registered doctor with a license to practice under the GMC. They must be able to show commitment to developing safe, high quality care across all aspects of healthcare and be able to develop and utilise professional and other networks.
